Jharkhand Won One Gold, Two Silver On The Second Day Of Senior National Archery

Jamshedpur 4th Oct 2021: Archers from Jharkhand won one gold and two silver medals in the Indian round of the Senior National Archery Championship held at Archery Ground, JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur on Sunday, October 3.

Jharkhand’s overall medal tally has reached five medals, including two gold and three silver.

Jharkhand’s Goldie Mishra and Ritu Kumari won the gold medal in the mixed doubles match on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Digambar and Natasha of Maharashtra won silver medals, while Hiraboi Singh and Rajpyari Devi of All India Police won bronze medals.

The girls from Jharkhand won the silver medal in the team event while the gold medal went to Manipur. Team Maharashtra won the bronze medal.

In the boys’ team event, Services won the gold medal, All India Police got the silver, whereas Team Manipur got the bronze medal.

In the girls’ event, Pallavi Boro of All India Police Sports Control Board won the gold medal, Anku Kumari of Jharkhand won the silver, and Onobi of Manipur won the bronze.

The action-packed event will have Indian Round, Compound, and Recurve Nationals (Men’s and Women’s).

The Senior Nationals will be held in three phases with an Indian round event from October 2-3, a compound event from October 5-6, and a recurve (Olympic) event from October 8-9.

The Senior Nationals are of utmost importance as the top 16 rank holders in the Recurve Men, Recurve Women, Compound Men, and Compound Women categories will be selected from this championship for the final trials to be held on October 10 and 11 in Jamshedpur.

It will be the basis for the selection of the Indian team for the Asian Archery Championship, Dhaka.
