Jharkhand Shines With One Gold, One Silver On The First Day Of Senior National Archery In Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur 3rd Oct 2021: Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda, formally inaugurated the 40th NTPC Senior National Archery Championship on Saturday at the Archery Ground of JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur.

Team Jharkhand won gold and silver medals in the Indian round on the first day of the championship.

Asrita Biruli won the gold medal in the women’s event in the 50m distance, while Goldie Mishra won the silver medal in the men’s event in the 30m distance.

Hosted by Tata Archery Academy of Tata Steel, the national level championship is being organized by the Archery Association of India (AAI) in association with the Jharkhand Archery Association.

Arjun Munda, the President of AAI, congratulated Tata Steel for hosting the championship and said that the government is committed to promoting every sport and providing infrastructure, training of sportspersons, and promoting coaches and players.

Chanakya Choudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, said that Tata Steel is proud to host the 40th NTPC Senior Archery National Championship for Indian Round, Compound, and Recurve. It was planned to commemorate 25 years of Tata Archery Academy, which was established on 4th October 1996.

On October 4, 2021, Tata Steel will also celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Tata Archery Academy, which was set up to encourage indigenous talent. Since 1996, Tata Archery Academy has successfully trained and trained talented youth to contribute to the great pride of the country.
