Tokyo Olympics 4th July 2021: Manu Bhaker, India’s first world champion in women’s pistol shooting, has high hopes of winning a medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
For the first time, 15 Indian shooters have qualified for the Olympics.
Manu is the only female shooter to represent the country in three events in Tokyo. She is also the youngest gold medalist of the ISSF World Cup.
Manu won the silver medal in the 10m pistol mixed doubles and bronze medal in the women’s team event along with Saurav Chaudhary at the recently held Shooting World Cup before Tokyo.
Manu is also the first female shooter to have won a gold medal in the 10m air pistol event in any age group Olympic Games.
She has won a gold medal for the country in the 2018 Youth Olympic Games.
She also won 9 medals for the country in the 2017 National Shooting Championship.
