Jamshedpur 19th Mar 2020: In a historic development, Chief Minister Hemant Soren handed over appointment letters to 27 sports players of Jharkhand at an event organized by Tourism Sports Culture Youth and Welfare Department Jharkhand at Project Bhawan in Ranchi on Wednesday 17 March.
The Sports Department had selected 40 such players based on their records and medals won at different competitive events at national and international levels.
Out of these 40, one player was given an appointment letter on 29 December 2020 on the day of completion of 1 year of the government. Three players have been selected for Group B jobs under the direct recruitment scheme. The remaining 36 players have been given a direct appointment in Jharkhand’s home department as constables.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren gave a direct appointment letter to 27 players (10 male and 17 female candidates) on Wednesday.
Wasi-ul-Hasan, the national handball player from Jamshedpur, was among the 27 players who received appointment letters.
Chief Secretary Jharkhand Sukhdev Singh, Director General of Police Jharkhand Neeraj Sinha, Principal Secretary to CM Rajeev Arun Ekka, Secretary Tourism Sports Culture and Youth Affairs Shrimati Pooja Singhal were present during the event.
