Jamshedpur 21st August 2021: As part of preparedness to deal with a possible third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, city-based health centers have come up with a contingency plan. Major hospitals have started introducing better medical facilities for proper treatment.
To augment its facilities, St Joseph’s Hospital, Bhilai Hills, East Singhbhum is all set to dedicate a new Intensive Care Unit (ICU) facility on 22nd August.
Dr. A K Lal, Civil Surgeon, East Singhbhum, and Fr. Paul Fernandes, Director XLRI, will inaugurate the new facility.
A hospital official said the ICU set up at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Bhilai Hill, which has an access area of 10 villages, will help in the management of diseases related to coronavirus.
“The step has been taken to counter the third wave of Covid-19. These are specially chosen surveillance tools that can be used for other patients needing close monitoring and will, therefore, go beyond mere coronavirus care,” said Ronald D’Costa, President of XLRI Alumni Association.
Apart from this, the facility is equipped with: BPL Multipara Monitor, Model: Ultima Prime D, Wall Mounting Bracket, BiPAP Machine, Syringe Pump, Model: Acura S, Infusion Pump, Model Acura, BPL Video Laryngoscope, Parent Motorized Bed ICU/CCU, Bedside Locker, Food Trolley, BPL Portable X-Ray, M RAD100, Crash Cart, BMC, Model: H80 High Flow Humidifier.
