Jamshedpur 23rd July 2021: A suspected case of black fungus undergoing treatment at Sadar Hospital in Khasmahal has been referred to RIMS, Ranchi, for better treatment.

The patient was 40 years old and was suffering from vomiting and high sugar levels and was experiencing vision problems.

He was found positive for mucormycosis when doctors performed an MRI on him.

However, other reports need to be made to be confirmed as a black fungus case.

The matter was discussed with the district administration, including Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar.

If all patient reports are positive for mucormycosis this would be the ninth case of black fungus from the city.
