Jamshedpur 5th April 2021: The spike in COVID-19 cases continued in Jamshedpur with 99 new infections reported on Monday, April 5, taking the total tally to 1,96,64 mark.
There have been two coronavirus deaths in Jamshedpur on Monday after a gap of one day. Earlier on April 3, the 49-year-old died due to an infection.
The number of active cases rose to 670, while the death toll from the two deaths rose to 379.
The hotspot areas of Steel City Mango, Kadama, Sonari, and Sakchi continue to witness a large-scale proliferation of COVID.
Of the 2171 samples tested in Jamshedpur on Sunday, 99 were positive.
Of the 99 new cases, 97 are from Jamshedpur urban area and two from Ghastila.
Therefore, the district administration said it would go for aggressive control and strict enforcement of health protocols such as wearing masks and maintaining social distance.
