Jamshedpur 31st March 2021: Panic spread in the city after a gap of two months, 50 Covid cases, were reported in a single day. The positive cases have now reached the mark of 18751. There have been 376 deaths so far and 269 active cases.
It is indeed quite surprising that cases have been rising again with each passing day after a fall for a few months.
The first positive case of Covid-19 from West Singhbhum was also revealed. The youth is 22 years old and returned from Chennai on May 14.
The vigil has been increased at Tatanagar railway station. All passengers are undergoing thermal screening and must fill in their travel history and contact details at the Tatanagar station.
The health department has also stepped up testing. Random tests are being conducted at market places in Sakchi and Bishtupur.
Now the plan is to target those who are regular in contact with the crowd.
The health officials said that the people need to understand that the more tests we do, the more the fear of spread will become normal.
He further said that every step is being taken to control the situation. People should continue to follow the lockdown criteria and not get crowded. Though the Covid-19 cases are under control, as compared to the metro, we are still taking precautionary steps to ensure that the situation remains normal.
