Tata Steel Jamshedpur AMmong Top 10 Steel Producers

Jamshedpur 18th Jan 2021: Tata Steel has made it to the top 10 steel companies in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) Corporate Sustainability Assessment 2021. The company has maintained its position in the DJSI Emerging Markets (EM) Index for the 10th year in a row.

For the 2021 Corporate Sustainability Assessment, 5,300 companies were eligible to participate and were invited to participate. 

However, a record 1,843 companies took part in the evaluations this year.

Under Sustainability, Tata Steel received the highest scores in the following categories such as Business Conduct Code, Risk and Crisis Management, Environmental Reporting, Operational Environment Efficiency, Corporate, Citizenship and Philanthropy, and Social Reporting.

Sanjeev Paul, Vice President (Safety, Health, and Sustainability), Tata Steel, said: “We are honored to be among the top 10 steel companies in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) globally. To enable sustainable manufacturing, Tata Steel has been invested in several initiatives and will continue to set new benchmarks for the industry. This acceptance motivates us to continue cultivating and nurturing a sustainable ecosystem.”

It is known that Tata Steel is also one of the top 15 companies in India that have made it to the EM Index, which currently consists of 109 companies.
