Jamshedpur 29th Nov 2021: Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta on Saturday appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ban international flights in view of the new form of Covid infection.
The Health Minister said that the country has witnessed a devastating second wave of COVID-19, and we are still under its impact.
“So this new wave needs to be stopped prematurely, in the second wave four forms, including Delta, caused havoc. We have to take the step that this new variant Omicron will have to be barred from entering the country,” the minister wrote in the letter.
Minister Banna Gupta said that there should be a ban on flying from the countries where new variants have been found.
Preparation should be done by establishing coordination with Minister Narendra Modi and all the stakeholders in advance.
He said that this time PM Modi should be careful while taking lessons from past mistakes, the health department is such where politics should not happen.
At the same time, he said that the department has been instructed to make special preparations for the screening of people coming by trains and domestic flights.
Further, he said that the state government would soon review the situation in a big way.
