Tata Steel’s Women’s Team Will Handle The Operations Of Noamundi Mines

Jamshedpur 29th Nov 2021: With huge progress towards women empowerment, Tata Steel’s Noamundi Iron Mine in Jharkhand is all set to witness an all-women team handling the entire mining process from next year.

This will be the first time that women will handle the entire process in one day.

Under the plan, the company has decided to deploy its women team in all shifts from drilling, dumper, and shovel operations to mining operations.

Interacting with the media in Noamundi, Atul Kumar Bhatnagar, General Manager, OMQ Division, Tata Steel, said: “We are looking forward to the day when the entire mining work will be done by our women team in one day. We hope that at the beginning of the new year, we will be able to achieve this goal.”

He said that Tata Steel always strives to provide more opportunities to women.

Furthermore, the objective behind the initiative is to increase gender diversity in the workplace, especially in a challenging sector like mining.
