Tata Steel Wins Five Quality Awards For Systematic Application Of Value Engineering

Jamshedpur 24th Nov 2021: Tata Steel has won five prestigious awards for systematic application of value engineering during the 37th INVEST International Virtual Conference held from 20-21 November.

The Indian Value Engineering Society (INVEST) has honored Tata Steel with the prestigious “Honda Golden Key Award” for excellence in the systematic application of value engineering in engineering and projects.

Despite this, the company has been awarded the “Mohta Award” for Best Value Engineering Case Study in India for Improvement in Plant Layout of Briquette Plant at Tata Steel Kalinganagar and bagged two “Commendation Awards” for value study of optimization of Programmable Logic Controllers at Cold Rolling Mill at Jamshedpur, and using ‘Risk’ as a valuable element and expected value for value measurement to building resilience in further projects.

Another award, the Fellowship of Invest (FINVEST), has been conferred on Surya Prakash Prabhakar based on his technical merit, outstanding achievement, and distinguished contribution in promoting value management in India.

Notably, Tata Steel is celebrating November as Quality Month. The theme of Quality Month 2021 is “GenQ: Next Generation of Quality”.

However, the theme focuses on Next-Generation Quality to perfect the balance between people, processes, and technology.
