Jamshedpur 18th Nov 2021: Legislators and activists of the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha on Wednesday blocked the doors of three Tata group companies, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, and Tata Cummins, as part of a pre-announced agitation demanding Jamshedpur, the headquarters of Tata Cummins.
The JMM leaders also demanded 75% employment reservation for local candidates in companies as per the policy of the government.
Party workers also closed the gates of Tata Group in other parts of Kolhan Commissionerate. The blockade started at 10 am and continued till midnight.
Party workers arrived at the company gate with drums and traditional musical instruments and sat on a dharna.
However, the biggest displeasure of JMM MLAs is that all the three companies are running in Jamshedpur, but their headquarter is in Maharashtra. This headquarter decides on the future of all the employees, their grade revision bonus and other matters.
Meanwhile, QRT (Quick Response Team) police were also on the spot. The company management was also very concerned about the security.
During this time, Senior police officers had also made preparations for the security arrangements by meeting with the police officers late on Tuesday night.
Apart from this, Potka MLA Sanjeev Sardar says that the three companies are adopting an arbitrary attitude.
He also warned that if demands are not accepted, then they will block Tata Steel and all its group companies across Jharkhand.
