Jamshedpur 16th Nov 2021: The first of 10 new museums dedicated to tribal culture and contribution to the freedom movement was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday in Ranchi to mark the birth anniversary of tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda.
Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bhagwan Birsa Munda Memorial-cum-Freedom Fighter Museum on the first ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas’ or tribal pride day.
Addressing the gathering virtually, Modi said that it has been decided to honor the contribution of the tribal people. For this, a historic decision has been taken that from today onwards, the country will celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda on November 15 every year as ‘Tribal Pride Day’.
However, nine more tribal museums will soon be opened in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Manipur, Mizoram, and Goa.
