Jamshedpur 6th Oct 2021: Respecting the sentiments of the devotees, the district administration has allowed Jamshedpur Durga Puja committees to distribute the bhog through home delivery.
The administration on Tuesday said committees can do home delivery of bhog but only under strict COVID-19 protocols. The move comes after a growing demand to obtain several social and religious approvals for the distribution of bhog.
Addressing a press meet on the preparations for the mega festival, DC Suraj Kumar said that the focus of this year’s Durga Puja is on precautionary norms.
He said that the state government has said that there should be no community program or crowd gathering in or around the pandal for the distribution of bhog. This can also be done through home delivery.
The DC said that many police personnel would be deputed to keep an eye on the miscreants. Magistrates will be deputed at various places to maintain peace round the clock.
He said that the festival is for rituals and common people should stay indoors.
During the meeting, it was directed that the 320 puja pandals that are being constructed should have the necessary weapons – sanitizers, thermal guns, and medicines to beat COVID-19.
