Jamshedpur 3rd Oct 2021: After the silence in Jamshedpur, the cases of Covid-19 are increasing again.
After recording a decline in daily infections for the past few months, Jamshedpur on Saturday registered a significant increase in new cases in the city, which saw 9 new Covid-19 cases, including 7 from Mango and 1 each from Bistupur and Baridih during the last 24 hours.
The city on Saturday saw 2 people recovering from the virus and pushed the recovery mark to 50825.
According to the records of the Health Department, 9 out of 3953 people who got Covid tested in East Singhbhum were found positive.
The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 97.94%, while the mortality rate is 2.04%.
Though, the death toll in Steel City remains at 1058.
Meanwhile, the district administration has asked all officials to focus on adopting additional preparedness measures ahead of the festive season and ensure that all shops and establishments, and markets where people are likely to congregate follow the COVID protocol.
Though the Jamshedpur Durga Puja Central Committee (JDPKS), the apex body of Durga Puja committees in the city, plans to make the festival less important, the department is in no mood to take a risk and has started planning before to ensure the safety of the people.
