Jamshedpur 15th Sept 2021: The Jharkhand government has allowed devotees inside religious places after about five months under the unlock process due to the reduction in the number of Covid cases in the state.
At a meeting of the State Disaster Management Department chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren in Ranchi on Tuesday evening, devotees were allowed inside religious places like temples, mosques, churches, and other places of worship with some riders.
The priests and clerics of religious places should have compulsorily consumed the Covid vaccine at least once.
“It will be mandatory to take at least one dose of the vaccine from all the concerned persons involved in the operation of the shrine-like priests, pandas, imams, pastors, etc. A maximum of 100 persons will be able to enter in an hour through e-pass in religious places fixed by the district magistrate (deputy commissioner) like Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar,” said a senior disaster management officer who attended the meeting.
Besides this, entry of persons below 18 years of age will be prohibited in all religious places.
Devotees will have to follow covid, proper behavior like maintaining social distance will be mandatory, wearing masks at all times.
For the Durga Puja festival that takes place in October and is considered one of the most popular festivals in Jharkhand, the government has allowed the construction of puja pandals with certain restrictions.
The entry of devotees into the pandal will remain prohibited, and the pandal cannot contain more than 50% of the pandal’s capacity or more than 25 persons (whichever is less) at a time.
However, fairs and cultural programs will remain banned as last year.
The immersion of the idols will be done at the place marked by the district administration, and no person will remain in the pandal without a mask.
Meanwhile, after about a year and a half, offline classes have been allowed for secondary classes (classes six and eight) in all schools as well as for all years of undergraduate and postgraduate education in colleges.
All sports activities have been allowed to be held without spectators.
At the same time, bars and restaurants will be allowed to open till 11 pm.
The order will come into force with immediate effect.
