Jamshedpur 10th July 2021: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has directed for single-window approval for agro-based industries to encourage investors in this sector.
“There is ample scope for investment in the agro-based industry sector, especially in the food processing sector, and there is a need to provide incentives to attract investments. The state needs single-window clearance for agro-based industries also to attract more investors in this sector,” said Hemant Soren while reviewing the performance of the Industries Department in Ranchi on Friday.
The Chief Minister also emphasized the professional operation of Jharcraft as it is the identity of Jharkhand in the handicraft sector.
“Jharcraft has a good quality of products available, and there is substantial demand for their products as well. However, the products are not getting as much market as their demands, and this requires professional management of Jharcraft to increase market engagement of the products. There is a need to develop a market strategy of Jharcraft products in coordination with industry experts to increase the market share of Jharcraft products,” Soren said.
He also emphasized that the working conditions of Jharcraft artisans also need to be improved and proper mapping of all such artisans needs to be done.
He also informed that there is ample potential for lac and Tasar industry in the state, but not much work has been done for the development of these two sectors in the state.
“The department needs to set up a research and design team to examine what opportunities and markets are available for lac and Tasar products and how more such centers can be set up in the state,” Soren said.
