Jamshedpur 9th July 2021: Jamshedpur saw a spurt in Covid cases on Wednesday, with daily infections in the city rising to 21.
Zero fatalities were recorded on 7 July. Earlier on Tuesday, 17 cases were reported.
The city was reporting single-digit cases for a week. New positive people in Jamshedpur took the tally of coronavirus to 51638.
15 people were cured of the virus on Wednesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 50511, while the total active cases in Jamshedpur has gone up to 74.
74 patients are still undergoing treatment for coronavirus in the district, most of whom are in home isolation, while some are being treated in care centers and hospitals.
Of the 21 new cases, 8 are from Baharagora, 3 each from Ghatshila and Chakulia, 2 from Musabani, and one each from Baridih, Kadma, Telco, and Golmuri.
15 people recovered from the virus on Wednesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 50511, a recovery rate of 97.86%, the highest ever.
East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 414989 tests per million in the district.
Jamshedpur has a recovery rate of 97.86%, while the death rate is 2.04%.
With 21 new Covid-19 cases, Jamshedpur’s positivity rate remained below 1% on Wednesday, as the city remained on the recovery path after a brutal wave of infections between April and May.
The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 0.63% after East Singhbhum conducted over 3300 tests in the last 24 hours.
Steel City tested 3324 samples, out of which 21 turned out to be positive, while 15 people recovered from COVID-19.
Government data shows that a consistently high number of tests has pushed the positivity rate down to 0.63%.
So far, 1124159 samples have been taken in Jamshedpur, out of which 1104702 have been tested, and 1053064 have come out negative.
