Jamshedpur 9th July 2021: Shops and malls in Jamshedpur and other parts of the state will continue till 8 pm but will have to be closed on Sundays, as part of the Health Safety Week ending July 7, with the state government continuing the lockdown instructions until further notice. While educational institutions will remain closed till further orders.
Some experts have said that the third wave of COVID-19 may strike by the end of July or August, and the government does not want to take the risk by opening schools or further easing restrictions for the time being.
State Health and Disaster Management Minister Banna Gupta said we will decide on further relaxations based on the Covid caseload and other factors, especially next week while allowing shops to open for a few hours on Sundays.
Meanwhile, checkpoints near major intersections in Jamshedpur, especially at Sakchi intersection, near Bagh-e-Jamshed, along Strait Mile Road near Keenan Stadium, and near Station Road near Tatanagar station have been removed.
However, the checkpoints have been removed and only the traffic police are carrying out regular helmet checking and mask checking drives on important main roads of the city.
Despite this, cinema hall owners and restaurants are planning to open their units by the end of this week as the government has allowed the opening of multiplexes, cinema halls, and restaurants with 50% capacity.
Banquet halls and community halls are also open with restrictions on more than 50 persons at any one time.
There will be a prohibition on plying inter-state buses.
E-pass will not be required to move from one district to another in the state.
In addition, the entrance examinations permitted by the central government may be conducted, but the examinations to be conducted by the state government will continue to be postponed.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren said, “We have decided to extend the health protection week for one more week as we are not out of danger, and there is a possibility of a third wave.”
During the weekend lockdown from 8 pm on Saturday, companies, and factories, and even warehouses will remain operational.
There will also be no restriction on the movement of people.
However, milk shops can function along with fuel retail outlets and godowns during the weekend lockdown.
