Jamshedpur 6th July 2021: The state government should allow all religious places like temples, churches, mosques, gurdwaras, and others to open with COVID protocols, as is the case with other establishments, wrote Congress party national spokesperson and former Jamshedpur MP Dr. Ajoy Kumar in a letter to the Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
Dr. Ajoy argued that holy places should be opened to the public in the same way that priests and other workers at these shrines depended on donations from devotees to meet their subsistence needs for themselves and their families.
” The government should consider reopening temples, churches, mosques, gurudwaras, and other places of worship as priests and other workers at these places depend on donations from devotees”, he said.
The closure of these places is making it difficult for the priests and workers of these places of worship to cope with the necessities of daily life.
Dr. Ajoy Kumar has urged the Chief Minister to allow prayer places of all communities with the COVID protocol.
