Jamshedpur 18th April 2021: The city has turned into a Corona hotbed with more than 500 positive cases for the last three days.
Every day, more than 500 positive cases are coming out of the 5000 tests being conducted in the city.
Positive cases have crossed the mark of 23000 so far.
Given the increasing number of Covid cases, the Department of Health is conducting Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) when visiting people in public places.
Meanwhile, with the increase in the number of COVID-19 positive cases in the city, the administration has decided to conduct raids in various public places, shops, and markets where norms of social disturbances are being violated.
On Friday night, several shops in Jugasalai, Bishtupur, and Telco areas were sealed for 48 hours for violation of Covid’s norms.
“Despite the rising number of COVID-19 cases, people are still not following the rules. Strict enforcement of the triad of precautionary measures like use of masks and sanitizers and following social distancing in public spaces has become a priority,” said Krishna Kumar, city manager, JNAC.
