Jamshedpur 6th April 2021: Mild tremors were felt in Jamshedpur at 8.49 pm on Monday. There was chaos in many areas due to the earthquake, and people came out of the houses in fear.
Confirming the earthquake, Meteorologist Abhishek Anand, in charge of Meteorological Center Ranchi, said that the epicenter of the earthquake was in the Sikkim bordering Nepal.
“The earthquake recorded a magnitude of 5.4 reactors and a depth of 10 kilometers. Latitude was recorded at 27.23 degrees north and longitude 88.84 degrees east,” he further added.
The earthquake had a great impact in West Bengal and adjoining areas of Jharkhand and Bihar. Shocks have also been felt in Dhanbad and Jamshedpur due to their proximity to West Bengal.
However, no information has been reported about the loss of life or property.
Abhishek Anand reported that if the intensity of the earthquake was 6 reactors or more, there could have been a lot of damage.
