Jamshedpur 12th Jan 2021: Tata Steel has been recognized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as one of the top 25 most innovative Indian companies for its product, process, and business innovation.
As part of the submission process, several innovation cases were presented to showcase the innovation culture in the organization, including two dazzling cases – the ‘First-of-its-kind’ 5 tonnes per day CO2 capture plant and ‘First-in-World’ Digital Twin in Sinter Making.
The award evaluates all types of new processes, products, services, technologies, innovations, and approaches that have brought tangible results or revolutionized changes within the industry or across the sector.
Tata Steel was honored with the ‘CII Industrial Innovation Award’ at a virtual awards ceremony held during the 27th edition of DST-CII Technology Summit 2021.
Kris Gopalakrishnan, former Chairman, CII and President, CII Industrial Innovation Awards 2021, presented the award to Tata Steel along with Dr. S. Chandrasekhar, Secretary-DST, Government of India.
However, the company aims to develop and use new state-of-the-art technologies indigenously and work towards a long-term vision of self-reliance. This effort will not only reduce the cost of products and services but will also make the technology accessible within the relevant industry ecosystem.
