Jamshedpur’s Petrol Pumps Will Remain Closed On December 21 To Demand Reduction In VAT

Jamshedpur 18th Dec 2021: Strategy for launching a public awareness campaign on the benefits of a VAT reduction. For this, a meeting was organized by Kolhan Petroleum Dealers Association (KPDA) at Golmuri Club on Friday.

The meeting was presided over by the association’s secretary, Kunal Kar.

In the meeting, it was decided to go on strike on December 21 to demand a reduction in VAT.

The meeting discussed issues such as pressure by petroleum companies to set up fuel stations at random, reducing the profitability of fuel pump owners, and creating a tough time for such station openers in the recent past.

The members said they had to sell diesel at Rs 1/liter to customers of major transport companies at lower rates which were lower than the rates of supply agencies.

Kunal Kar said that almost all the neighboring states of Jharkhand have reduced the tax on diesel, due to which the sale of diesel in Jharkhand has been affected, causing loss to the dealers and customers.

He warned that if the state government does not consider these demands of the Jharkhand Petroleum Dealers Association by January 5, 2022, then the delegation of Kolhan Petroleum Dealers will meet the Chief Minister and the Finance Minister and present their position.
