Tata Motors To Shut NANO car
Jamshedpur, 28 Nov 2017 : Tata Motors may soon shut it nano plant due to very low sale, At Present The Gujarat Nano Plant manufactures only 2 car per day.
As compared to Tata Motor’s aspiration of 250000 unit sales annually at the time of launch, sales in FY 2016-17 was 7591 units only. The car is a loss making product for Tata Motors as disclosed by former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry and confirmed by current Tata Motors management.

In 2009, Ratan Tata launched world’s most affordable car Tata Nano which was priced at Rs 1,00,000 initially but the price kept increasing and sale kept declining.
It is being said that Tata may soon launch its new car NEO after shutting Nano, Neo will be an electric car.
Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotives to build Tata Nano-based electric cars with powertrains from Indian specialist firm Electra EV. First batch of 400 cars to be supplied to Ola Cabs.
Tata Motors will supply complete Nano body shells without the engine and transmission to Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotives who will manufacture and market the EV. Jayem Automotives has a long-standing association with Tata Motors and recently entered into a joint-venture (JT Special Vehicles) with the automaker to develop sporty versions of select Tata models. Whilst the current plan is for the Neo to be sold under the Jayem brand, Tata Motors too is likely to have its own version of the Neo in the future.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to launch the Jayem Neo in Hyderabad.
